Explore the beautiful village of Burley, with its thatched cottages and tea rooms, and experience the heath and wildlife unique to the New Forest on this family treasure hunt cycle trail.

This cycle ride is suitable for all the family. It follows generally flat roads and cycle paths. There is a short hill to climb in Beechwood Lane, near the start, and a longer one towards the end from Holmsley Passage. The surface of the Castleman cycle track is uneven so a bicycle with sturdy tyres is recommended. The trail starts and ends at The White Buck Inn. Cycle hire is available in Burley village centre.

The White Buck Inn

Well known for fine food and Fuller's cask ales, the inn combines rustic charm with a traditional atmosphere and attractive period-style bars. Private receptions, dinner parties and small social events catered for. Please call the inn for further information or menus.

Chris and his team deliver an excellent range of pub classics, many including New Forest ingredients, such as Keeper's and Hunter's salads, spinach and wild mushroom lasagne and Jilly's daily changing short crust pie. Fortify yourself for your day's mountain biking or golfing with a classic full English breakfast or choose the kippers that you are not allowed to cook at home!

The White Buck has seven bedrooms. Our premier rooms are very spacious and individually furnished with their own theme and our standard rooms, on the second floor, have recently been refurbished to a very high standard. For those who enjoy travelling with their canine companions, we have two rooms which can accommodate you and your pet [only one dog allowed per room].
