The Regions

Walk and Cycle is a collection of regions promoting walking and cycling across the country. With trail descriptions, event listings, local groups and clubs, holidays, maps, books, videos and much more, it is an essential tool for planning your leisure time.

Britain

The gateway to the Walk and Cycle regions.

Dorset

With its spectacular Jurassic Coast, rolling hills, beautiful beaches, historic houses and gardens, ancient castles and forts, idyllic villages and charming market towns, Dorset is truly unique. Quiet country lanes and a network of footpaths and cycle trails make it an ideal walking and cycling holiday destination.

Hampshire

Hampshire is a striking blend of beautiful coastline, rolling hills and valleys with crystal clear trout streams, forests and ancient woodlands, enchanting villages, medieval towns and the great industrial ports of Southampton and Portsmouth.

Kent

Follow the chalk hills of the North Downs to the coast where you will find award winning beaches and the iconic White Cliffs of Dover. Kent's rich history and heritage can be seen in the naval ports along the Thames estuary, the stunning Leeds Castle and the ancient settlements and beautiful cathedrals of Rochester and Canterbury.

Oxfordshire

Discover one of Britain's most beautiful regions, an area of diverse landscapes, pretty villages and the vibrant and inspiring city of Oxford. Explore the hills, secluded river valleys and medieval villages of the Cotswolds or follow the River Thames through Oxford and Henley to the rolling hills of the Chilterns.

Shop

In the Walk and Cycle Shop we offer a range of walking and cycling related products that we supply directly ourselves or through our partner suppliers. The shop helps to fund development of the Walk and Cycle site, which provides thousands of pages of information to walkers and cyclists free of charge.

Surrey

The meadows, heaths and ancient woodlands of the North Downs are a haven for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. Explore historic villages and vibrant towns, visit stately homes with their landscaped gardens and experience a wealth of world-class attractions and contemporary arts venues all just a stone's throw from London.

Sussex

The hills of the South Downs and the Sussex Weald are dotted with delightful villages waiting to be explored. Along the coast you will find the lively towns of Brighton and Eastbourne, the wildlife-rich inlets of Chichester Harbour and the white chalk cliffs of Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters.
